Practical

Introduction to organic production technology, organic standards, and safety practices; identification of organic inputs, biofertilizers, and biopesticides; collection and segregation of agricultural wastes; characterization of biodegradable and non-biodegradable farm wastes; preparation of compost pit; compost preparation using pit and heap methods; monitoring and management of the composting process; establishment and maintenance of a vermicompost unit; preparation of enriched compost, NADEP compost, and farmyard manure (FYM); preparation of Jeevamrutham, Ghanajeevamrutham, Beejamrutham, Panchagavya, Fish Amino Acid (FAA), and Fermented Plant Extract (FPE); preparation of botanical formulations such as Neemastra, Agniastra, and Brahmastra; seed treatment using biofertilizers and biocontrol agents; nursery raising under organic production systems; field preparation and application of organic nutrient management practices; organic weed, pest, and disease management; preparation and application of botanical pesticides; recycling of crop residues into organic mulch; preparation of biochar from agricultural residues; recycling of livestock wastes and preparation of liquid organic manures; harvesting, grading, packaging, and storage of organically produced crops; educational visit to a certified organic farm or organic input production unit; preparation of practical records and economic analysis of organic input production and agricultural waste management
