The Library which is an integral part of Academics, is kept open even beyond college working hours for the benefit of its users. It is very user friendly with a core collection of 10,000 book volumes consisting of textbooks, reference books and general books along with CDs, national and international journals, magazines and leading newspapers.
In the era of Information Technology, communication and network constitute the core of the information exchange, the library constitutes a major part with Books(Volumes) is around 9581, individual titles are around 3043. The Library has generously donated 477 books to Amrita Vidyalam, Mysore.
The Library subscribes to around 40 journals and magazines.
We, at AMRITA believe that teaching and learning must assume a global dimension. In this direction, Amrita Digital Library - VIDYA has been developed with the best collection of learning resources from the World Wide Web. This Digital Information Repository is a multimedia - rich 1.5 Tera Bytes of organized information comprising 120,000 e-book titles, audio and articles, video lectures (Over 5000 hours), journals, news shows and documentaries running into thousands of hours of programmes from around the world. All these are available exclusively to Amrita students on the campus network through Streaming and on demand mode, opening new gateways to the greatest masters across the globe. Today, students incoprorate this archived material into their learning schedules and this is contributing immensely to indepth understanding of subjects taught and knowledge expansion.
Amrita School of Arts & Sciences extends hostel facilities to its outstation students. Separate hostel is provided for both boys and girls. The hostel aims at providing a secured, calm & homely atmosphere for students staying away from home. Infact it is a home away from home. With the support and loving care of two resident wardens both in boys & girls hostel, students live in harmony and develop respect and concern for the fellow beings. The chief warden, Prof. Venkatadas, also the student welfare officer with his caring & affectionate approach personally attends to the welfare of the students.
