Problems Solving Skills: Foundation of Problem Solving, Critical thinking, Problem Solving Process, Industry case studies & real-world problems

Conflict Management: Intrapersonal vs Interpersonal Conflict, Conflict Management Styles, Steps in Conflict Resolution, Handling Workplace Conflicts, Learning from Conflict & Personal Growth

Group discussion: Advantages of Group discussion, Types of Group discussion, Do’s and Don’ts, How to perform well in a group discussion and how to summarize and conclude the group discussion effectively

Aptitude

Logarithms, Inequalities, Sequence, Series, Time and Work – Pipes & Cistern, and Work Equivalence, Time, Speed and Distance – Boats & Streams, Races and Circular Tracks, Logical Reasoning – Arrangements, Sequencing, Scheduling, Venn Diagram, Network Diagrams, Binary Logic, and Logical Connectives, Clocks, Calendars, Cubes, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Symbol-Based Reasoning, Puzzles – Anagrams, Futoshiki, Rebus Puzzles, Lateral Thinking Problems, and Riddles, Speed Mathematics and Shortcuts.

Verbal Skills 

Vocabulary: Help students understand the usage of words in different contexts. Create an awareness about the frequently misused words, commonly confused words and wrong form of words in English. 

Grammar (Intermediate Level): Train students to comprehend the nuances of grammar and empower them to spot errors in sentences and correct them.  

Reading Comprehension: Introduce students to smart reading techniques, help them understand different tones in comprehension passages – basic to advanced.

Reasoning: Enable students to connect words, phrases, and sentences logically.  

Oral Communication Skills: Orient students in elevating their public speaking skills, and persuasive skills. Aid students in using the gift of the gab to interpret images, do a video synthesis, try a song interpretation or elaborate on a literary quote. 

Writing Skills: Practice previous years’ email writing questions  

Introduction

Pre-requisite:

SOFT SKILLS – Demonstration of fundamental level of self-reflection and emotional maturity to engage in collaborative dialogue

VERBAL – Possess basic English language skills and reasoning ability.

APTITUDE – Basic knowledge in arithmetic and algebra.

Objectives and Outcomes

Course Objective:

SOFT SKILLS

  1. To develop the social and cognitive agility required to navigate complex workplace dynamics by resolving interpersonal friction and implementing structured solutions to achieve the goals

  2. To activate the healthy competitive mindset in group environment with active listening and ensuring inclusive participation to steer the group towards cohesive conclusion.

VERBAL – To help students develop English language proficiency and critical reasoning.

APTITUDE – To assist students to improve their problem-solving skills

Course Outcomes 

CO1: Soft Skills – To improve the inter-personal skills, and leadership skills, vital for arriving at win-win situations in Group Discussions and other team activities

CO2: Soft Skills – To develop the ability to create better impact in Group Discussions through examination, participation, perspective-sharing, ideation, listening, brainstorming and consensus.

CO3 – Aptitude: To analyze, understand and solve questions in arithmetic by employing the most suitable methods.

CO4 – Aptitude: To investigate and apply suitable techniques to solve questions in logical reasoning.

CO5: Verbal – To be able to use vocabulary in the right context and to be competent in spotting grammatical errors and correcting them. 

CO6: Verbal – To be able to logically connect words, phrases, sentences and thereby communicate their perspectives/ideas convincingly.
