Practical

Selection of suitable tractors and farm machinery based on crop, soil and farm conditions. Farm mechanization planning for small, medium, and large farms. Preparation of machinery operation schedules for major agricultural operations. Field capacity, field efficiency, and machinery performance. Estimation of fuel consumption, operational costs, and machinery economics. Preparation of a custom hiring centre plan for a village or Farmer Producer Organization (FPO). Assessment of field conditions for selecting suitable irrigation systems. Pump discharge, pressure, and pumping efficiency. Selection of irrigation pumps based on water source and field requirements. Design of drip irrigation systems. Design of sprinkler irrigation system. Selection and sizing of pipes, fittings, and accessories for irrigation systems. Troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. Preparation of irrigation schedules based on crop water requirements. Site selection for farm ponds and rainwater harvesting structures. Design of farm ponds based on catchment area and storage requirements. Selection of appropriate soil conservation measures based on land characteristics. Preparation of farm layout. Planning of machinery sheds, storage structures, and utility buildings. Cost estimation and preparation of a detailed project report for farm development.
