Objectives & Relevance of the Initiative

  • Students in higher classes, typically in standard 9-12,  start thinking about the fields that they should choose for pursuing undergraduate studies. Aerospace Engineering, still being somewhat a niche area, is not visible enough for them as an area for pursuing UG Program. A webinar that gives a basic exposure to the field will be an opportunity to make at least some of them explore it further.
  • It's imperative to attract talented students to this field. A basic introduction can light up their curiosity and at least some of them would actively consider seeking UG opportunities in the area in due course of time.
  • Students of standards 11-12 may also be interested in knowing career opportunities in Aerospace Engineering. In India, the situation now looks good for the emergence of new opportunities in this area in near future as the government is opening defense sector for private investment as well. Though the proposed webinar does not intend to focus on career opportunities, a cursory mention about the emerging trends can be made in this.

The Approach

  • Each session will be of a total duration of 30-35 minutes of which the presentation can be of 25 minutes, leaving 5-10 (or more if required) for addressing questions.
  • The presentation will be rich in video content/livedemos to explain the concepts through visuals & clippings.
  • The topic will be explained without resorting to any jargon that they are not familiar with: Only terms like velocity, acceleration, force, momentum etc. will be used in the talk.
