The Department of Mathematics, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, in association with Amrita Centre for Research and Development will organize a Workshop on Statistical Techniques in Data Analytics from August 17-19, 2017.
The objective of this workshop is to bring together experts who are using statistical techniques in Big Data, practitioners, researchers, students, data scientists and faculty members for interactions and discussions and to explore possible avenues of collaborations. The workshop also focuses on R programming language which is a established statistical software and involves many statistical and visualization features. It offers an interactive environment with nearly 7000 add-on packages for manipulating data, doing statistical analysis and consequently come across many applications in Big data analytics, Data Mining, signal processing, parallel computing, neural network, etc., The R software has highest data handling and graphical capabilities compared to SAS/Python. This workshop also paves a way to young researchers by sharing their new ideas and experiences which will help in contributing to new theories.
Introduction to R studio working, Data organization in R, Univariate techniques, Multivariate techniques, Machine learning techniques using R. Applications like: New Paradigms of Statistical Dash Boards for Decision Making Aviation in the context of Big Data Challenges, Big Image Data Processing:Technologies and Implementation issues, Applied Regression Analysis and Applications of logistic regression in health science data analysis.
Research scholars and Faculties from Universities/ Colleges/ Institutes, Post graduate / Graduate students located anywhere in India who are working in the field of applications of Statistics/ Computer Science are eligible to apply.
The Department of Mathematics, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore has been actively engaged in both research and teaching. The Department has at present 23 faculty members who are all involved in research activities in the areas like, Network on Chip, Statistical Quality Control, Bio-statistics, Regression Analysis, Fractal Theory, Six Sigma, Fluid Dynamics, Lie Algebra, Graph Theory and Cryptography. The Department offers Ph.D Programme, Integrated M.Sc Programme in Mathematics and M.Sc Applied Statistics and Data Analytics.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyappeetham (AMRITA), accredited with A Grade by NAAC, celebrates the first decade of service to the society and humanity.
