C.S.Udhayakumar, affectionately called Udhayji by his students and friends, was formerly, Associate professor of Yoga Education, Self-Awareness and Personal Growth, Cultural Education, Amrita Values Program, Integral Studies and Cultural Synthesis etc in Amrita School of Business, Amrita Viswa Vidhyapeetham , Ettimadai, Coimbatore, India.

Before joining the Amrita Viswa Vidhyapeetham as a full-time faculty in the year 1996, he was the founder-director of YOGAKSHETHRAM, Foundation for Yoga Studies, Chennai, planning, organizing and conducting various classes, workshops and seminars on Yoga Education, Yoga Therapy, Self-Awareness and Personal Growth, Management of Stress, Health and Wellness and other related activities for thousands of people from all walks of life.

He was the visiting faculty, trainer and consultant for Yoga, Stress Management, Personality Development, Personal Growth and other Management Development Programmes in various corporate organizations, companies and institutions

He started his teaching career in the art and science of Yoga and Yoga Therapy in the year 1976 when he joined Yoga Academy, an offshoot of the Swami Sivananda Vedanta Yoga Centre, founded by Swami Vishnudevananda, one of the chief disciples of Swami Sivananda of the Divine Life Society, Rishikesh and under the tutelage and affectionate guidance of the late Dr.B.V. Reddy.He also learnt, received guidance and drew inspiration from Dr. T.K.V.Desikachar, son and student of the legendary Yogacharya Mysore T.Krishnamacharya, of the KYM Institute of Yoga Studies, Chennai.He was also associated with the Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI) and was with their new education schools both in Varanasi and Chennai for a number of years. He was also involved in conducting yoga education classes for the students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya Schools, Chennai.

Udhayakumar has been teaching and learning Yoga and spiritual science and culture for over 47 years now.
