Bio

Dr. G. Uma currently serves as Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai Campus.

Dr G. Uma completed her Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree from Madurai Kamaraj University. She received her doctorate degree from VIT University in 2016 for her thesis on Numerical modelling of Nonlinear four-wave interactions in discrete spectral wave models. Subsequently she completed her postdoctoral work at the Department of Ocean Technology, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras from 2017-2019. Towards her postdoctoral research, she worked on Development of an optimal third generation wind-wave model for operational wave forecast through nonlinear wave – wave interactions.

Her current areas of research includes Ocean wave modelling, Development of optimal third generation wave model and Developing numerical methods for solving integral, differential (ODE, PDE) and integro-different equations. She has four journal publications and 6 conference presentations including one invited lecture to her credit.
