Bio

Dr. Palmani Duraisamy is an accomplished Robotics and Artificial Intelligence researcher currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) at the School of Artificial Intelligence, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. He received his Ph.D. from SASTRA Deemed University in 2023, where his research focused on the development of a biomimetic robotic fish and intelligent control using data-assisted modeling and reinforcement learning. Before joining Amrita, he served as a Research Associate at SASTRA Deemed University (2018–2023), where he contributed to a DRDO-sponsored project on deep learning-based multimodal sensor fusion for off-road autonomous navigation. He has over a decade of experience in teaching and research. At Amrita, he leads the Autonomous Intelligence and Robotics (AIR) Laboratory, conducting research in autonomous mobile robots, humanoid and quadruped robotics, reinforcement learning, TinyML, robot perception, SLAM, computer vision, and AI-driven robotic systems for industrial and agricultural applications. His research has resulted in several publications in leading international journals and conferences, reflecting his commitment to advancing intelligent autonomous systems through innovative research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
