Bio

Dr. Parvathy B was selected by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for the Senior Research Fellowship in 2022 and currently serves in the Department of Public Health Dentistry since August 2022. She completed her BDS and MDS (Public Health Dentistry) from Amrita School of Dentistry, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi, Kerala in year 2012 and 2022, respectively. She has worked as Dental Surgeon in Trinity Dental Clinic, Kochi (2013- 2014) and Asok Dental Clinic, Thrissur (2015). Dr. Parvathy’s Post graduation dissertation on “Development and validation of cultural competence assessment tool for healthcare professionals, India” was selected for poster presentation at the Oxford Global Health and Bioethics Conference July 2022 and was awarded bursary for the same. She is also the recipient of Student Grant by Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Education 2021 for the study “Effectiveness of an educational intervention in promoting antibiotic awareness among 8th-10th grade schoolchildren, Kerala”. She had won Best scientific paper award at Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry National Conference 2021 for the study “Assessment of self-perceived Dental Public Health Competencies among dental students, Kerala” and Second best paper award at Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry conference (Kerala chapter) 2021. Her areas of interest are bioethics, health system research, oral epidemiology, behavioral interventions, policy advocacy and social sciences.
