Bio

Inspired by the compassionate vision of Chancellor Amma, Ms. Radhika Mohan is committed to contributing to nation-building through research, education, and service that promote wellbeing, resilience, and gender harmony. Her association with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham began in 2012, and since 2014, she has been actively engaged in institutional and community-based initiatives that reflect Amma’s message of compassion in action.

She currently serves as Assistant Professor at the School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and as In-Charge of Mano Layam – Centre for Wellbeing. She is also pursuing her Ph.D. at the Centre for Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality. Her doctoral research focuses on psychological resilience among women in Kerala, with particular attention to the cultural, familial, social, and personal strengths that enable women to navigate adversity with hope, courage, and meaning.

Alongside her academic and research work, she leads the national programme “Sameekshanam: Be Calm, Be Compassionate,” which aims to foster inner strength, emotional balance, and gender harmony among paramilitary and police forces across India. Her work bridges research, practice, and policy, with a broader mission to build compassionate, resilient, and gender-sensitive communities through culturally rooted wellbeing frameworks.
