Bio

Dr. Saraswathy L. currently serves as Professor and Head at the Department of Physiology, School of Medicine, Kochi.

Dr. Saraswathy L. graduated from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram in 1982. From 1982 till 1986, she worked as General Practitioner in private hospitals and later as Assistant Surgeon in Kerala Govt Health Services (rural) for 2 years. In 1986, she joined Govt. Medical education service as Tutor in Physiology. She completed her MD in Physiology from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram in 1990. Later, she worked as Faculty in Physiology in various cadres in Govt Medical Colleges all over Kerala, lastly as Professor & HOD, Department of Physiology at Govt Medical College Thrissur. In 2007, she joined the Department of Physiology at Amrita School of Medicine as Professor and Head and is continuing her services here. She has over 30 years of experience in undergraduate teaching and over 18 years in postgraduate teaching and has attended various teacher’s training and management training courses.

Responsibilities Held

  • External examiner and question paper setter for universities within and outside Kerala
  • Additional charge as Deputy Controller of examinations, Amrita Health Sciences campus
  • Guide for various research projects, both for Faculty & postgraduates and has published papers

Special Aim 

Make learning enjoyable and stress free for medicos especially for new entrants
