U. P. Umasree is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Computing, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Nagercoil Campus. She has a total of 8 years of teaching experience in engineering education.
Throughout her academic career, she has served as a Class Advisor, actively mentored students in their academic and professional development, and guided undergraduate projects in emerging areas of computer science. She is also involved in organizing technical activities and student development initiatives.
Her research interests include Image Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Computer Vision, and Artificial Intelligence. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. with a research focus on AI-based crop disease detection using computer vision and IoT technologies
