Dr. Vinata Sai currently serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of English, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai Campus.

She completed her Graduate and Postgraduate studies in English at Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Trichy, where she excelled both in curricular and co-curricular activities. She was also adjudged the Best outgoing student in UG and PG, apart from winning the Best Quizzer and Best NCC Cadet Award. A “C” Certificate holder in NCC, she represented Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry in the Republic Day Parade Compat at Delhi in 1985. She obtained her M.Phil from St. Josephs College, Trichy. She was awarded the doctorate degree in 2010 from Madras University for her thesis work on The Predicament of the Female Protagonists in the Select Plays of Rachel Crothers.

She has over 22 years of teaching experience and has received several accomplishments and awards in her career. She received the Vocational Excellence Award from Rotary Club of Madras East in 2005. An avid quizzer, She has won several prizes in quizzes. Notable ones are the first prize in a quiz on Himachal by TI Cycles which entitled her to participate in the weekend category of the MTB Himachal, 2011, International Mountain Biking Event and the first prize in Quest, a quiz for women conducted by the Duchess Club of Hotel Savera, Chennai in 2006. She is also a popular quiz master and has been invited to conduct quiz in several schools and colleges.
