Dr. Yamuna, Ph.D, is an Assistant Professor (Social Work) in the Department of Social Sciences, School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidya Peetham, Amritapuri Campus. She has a wide range of experience working with NGOs and Community Development. Her Ph. D was on the Family Integration Process of Adoptive Families in Bangalore City.Dr. Yamuna hails from Nilambur, Malappuram district, Kerala, holds a Ph.D in Social Work from the Department of Social Work, Bangalore University, Bangalore. Dr. Yamuna completed her Post Graduation in Social Work, from Vimala College, Thrissur, affiliated to the University of Calicut. Dr. Yamuna is a member, Board of Directors, Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Nilambur. She is also a member of various professional bodies in the field of Social Work like NAPSWI etc Dr. Yamuna has a wide range of experience in the field of Social Work ranging from working with the Kerala AIDS Control Society, Kerala Forest Research Institute and Jala Nidhi project in Peruvalloor in Malappuram District, Kerala.Dr. Yamuna worked as a Faculty in the Department of Social Work, Bangalore University. She has also worked as a faculty member in Social Work in one of the colleges affiliated to Calicut University.Dr. Yamuna has also worked in the Holy Angels School, Trivandrum as a School Counsellor.
