Prof. K. Vishnu Namboodiri

Professor K. Vishnu Namboodiri is a distinguished scholar of Pāṇinian grammar (Vyākaraṇa) and one of Kerala’s leading Sanskrit academicians. He has made significant contributions to the teaching, research, and preservation of the classical grammatical tradition through his work in higher education and advanced Sanskrit studies. He has served as Professor of Sanskrit Vyākaraṇa at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS), Kalady, where he has supervised doctoral research and mentored numerous scholars in Pāṇinian grammar, prakriyā literature, and the wider Sanskrit grammatical tradition. His students’ research spans critical editions, grammatical exegesis, and advanced studies of the Aṣṭādhyāyī and its commentarial corpus. (Sree Sankaracharya University)

In addition to his scholarly career, Prof. Namboodiri has held important academic leadership responsibilities as Campus Director of the Payyanur Regional Centre of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, contributing to the administration and academic development of one of India’s premier Sanskrit universities.
