Amrita Students Present Their Research at ACM MobiHoc 2017

Amrita Vishwa VidyapeethamMTech students, Dhivvya J. Parasuraman and Yadala Dikshith Reddy of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA), Amrita University, Amritapuri, presented their research at ACM MobiHoc 2017, the 18th International Symposium on Mobile Ad Hoc Networking and Computing, held at IIT Madras, Chennai, India, from 10th to 14th July, 2017.

Dhivvya presented a poster titled, “Towards Maximising Throughput and Coverage of a Novel Heterogeneous Maritime Communication Networks” and Yadala presented a poster titled, “Modelling and Analysis of the Effects of Oceanic Wave-Induced Movements of a Boat on the Wireless Link Quality”.

ACM MobiHoc is a premier international symposium dedicated to addressing challenges in dynamic networks and computing. ACM MobiHoc has had an acceptance rate of only 10% to 20% of the submitted papers over the years.

Both students conducted their research as part of the project, OceanNet. which provides affordable internet connectivity for marine fishermen. OceanNet was launched in September 2016 by Union minister for HRD, Shri. Prakash Javadekar along with Kerala state Minister for Fisheries, et al. Smt. J. MercyKutty Amma and former Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri. Oommen Chandy, in the presence of the Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Dr. Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. This project is partly funded by Information Technology Research Agency (ITRA), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
