Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has been recognized by the Haritha Keralam Mission for its outstanding contributions to environmental restoration activities. This recognition was awarded at an environmental meeting inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram, where the university’s representatives were honored for their remarkable efforts in promoting sustainable development.
The recognition highlights the significant role played by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in supporting Kerala’s vision of achieving Net Zero Carbon status. The award ceremony saw Dr. SN Jyothi, Associate Dean of the Engineering Department, along with other university representatives, including Brahmachari Srivalsan, Vishnu Vijay, S Nithin, P Binu, and G Salil Kumar, receiving a memento from the Haritha Keralam Mission in acknowledgment of their dedicated efforts.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. TN Seema, Coordinator of the Nava Keralam Karma Project, and several other dignitaries, underscoring the collaborative efforts between educational institutions and the Kerala government in working towards a carbon-neutral future.
As part of the Haritha Keralam Mission’s ‘Net Zero Carbon Kerala Through the People’ campaign, the government has been recognizing institutions that actively contribute to carbon-free activities and promote environmental sustainability.
