About

The Diploma in Ayurveda Therapy is a comprehensive training programme under the healthcare sector aimed at developing skilled Ayurveda therapists and Panchakarma therapy assistants with both theoretical knowledge and strong practical competencies. The curriculum is structured into six papers and twenty modules covering core areas such as the history and basic principles of Ayurveda, human anatomy and physiology (Sareera Vijnana), Ayurvedic drugs and formulations, Panchakarma and its preparatory procedures, Keraleeya Vishesha Chikitsa.Kriyakalpa, yoga, and physiotherapy. The programme places strong emphasis on hands-on training, enabling students to perform procedures such as rookshana, snehana, swedana, assist in Panchakarma therapies, manage Panchakarma theatres, and support specialised treatments for sensory organs, while also gaining foundational knowledge in yoga and physiotherapy relevant to Ayurvedic care.

Duration of Course: 2 Year.

The course shall comprise 1 year & 6 Months of academic training, followed by a compulsory internship of 6 months at the same institution in which the candidate is undergoing the course, after successful completion of the examination.

Academic/General Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria
  • Eligibility: Pass in Plus Two or equivalent
  • Upper Age Limit: 33 years (General), 38 years (SC/ST). 40 years (Ex-service persons)
  • Physical Standards / Measurements (Applicable only for Diploma in Ayurveda Therapy Course)
  • Candidates must be in good physical health and meet the following minimum standards:
    • Male Candidates: Minimum height— 162.5 cm; Minimum weight-46 kg
    • Female Candidates: Minimum height – 147 cm; Minimum weight —36 kg

Note: Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates are not eligible for admission to the Diploma in Ayurveda Therapy Course and Diploma in Ayurveda Nursing Course.

1. Government seats are those seats against which allotment will be made by the Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology based on the rank list published by Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology.

2. Management seats are those seats set apart in Government Undertaking! Private Self-financing institutions to be filled up by the Management concerned.

Documents (in Original) to be Produced at
the Time of Admission

  1. Allotment Memo and Fee receipt.
  2. SSLC or any relevant records to prove date of birth.
  3. Originals of Certificate and Mark list of the qualifying exam.
  4. Originals of Certificates, the copies of which are enclosed with the print out of application form)
  5. Transfer certificate and conduct certificate from the institution where the candidate studied last.
  6. Two copies of passport size photograph of the candidate.
  7. Eligibility Certificate / Equivalency Certificate of qualifying examination, if applicable.
  8. Applicant who is employed or a trainee in Government service, Scheduled Bank etc. should produce, at the time of interview, a relieving order and a certificate of good conduct from the Head of the office where the applicant is employed.
  9. The student who qualifies from other universities/board should produce migration certificate at the time of admission.

Note: All certificates as listed above must be produced for verification at the time of admission. Candidates will not be given any chance to produce the original documents/certificates asked for, on a subsequent occasion.
