Gender Harmony and Community Resilience Project (GBV)

This urgent, community-led initiative addresses the high rates of gender-based violence (GBV), particularly spousal violence, in the Kolar district of Karnataka. Its main goal is to build a gender-equitable community through a cascade model: strengthening local institutions (such as Self-Help Groups) and governance structures (by training elected Ward Members and local Gender Point Persons) to act as gender champions. This system improves legal awareness, establishes coordinated referral networks for survivors, and actively shifts harmful social norms making the community safer and more resilient against GBV.

The project is currently in its final planning stage and set to launch soon.
