Abstract : Cloud computing is virtually unlimited computing resources and is allocated based upon the request of the user in the pay-as-you-go model. This advancement leads to the economic and geographical enhancement of multiple sectors/applications such as healthcare, energy, education, e-commerce, information technology, etc. At the same time, it became a tedious task for the stakeholders to protect this cloud data while transferring across multiple nodes. Hence, providing security is one of the major concerns in this regard to safeguard the data from hackers. There are many potential attacks among which Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) is one of the major attacks which is scaling up year by year across multiple cloud computing applications. This paper pays a brief visit to the DDOS attacks in cloud environments.
