Abstract : The performance analysis of an AC-AC converter which is the combination of flyback rectifier with a bridgeless configuration and flyback inverter in a continuous conduction mode is discussed here. Compared to the basic bridge diode topology, the flyback rectifier with a bridgeless configuration can solve the problems related to conduction losses appearing in the primary side and improves the efficiency with a few circuit elements in place of bridge diodes. The flyback inverter which is operated in a continuous conduction mode (CCM) has lower peak currents and higher efficiencies. A comparative study of this modified circuit with the normal circuit arrangement having ac-dc converter and dc-ac inverter is presented. The simulation of the proposed model is implemented in MATLAB platform.
