Abstract : Association and communication of wireless mobile nodes in an infrastructure less or temporary network is termed as a Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET). Path must be constructed between the source node and destination node before the communication starts. There are a number of diversified issues still in existence for path maintenance. One of such is due to low or null battery power in a mobile node, even though the path is available with its physical existence. Increasing the battery power is not a simple task and may not be possible sometimes. Hence efficient utilization of the battery power is very important. In this research work an algorithm named “Accessible Residual Energy Based Efficient Routing (AREBER)” is proposed to reduce the risk of path failure or break due to battery power. The algorithm is proved for its better performance using NS-2 with the metrics concerned in comparison with the existing protocols.
