Abstract : The paper presents active power control in wind turbine driven electric generator by use of a novel method named as Reference Power Control. A direct driven wind turbine coupled PMSG, that is connected to the grid asynchronously via AC-DC-AC link, has been chosen for the study. A dynamic model of the entire system has been developed and then simulated using MATLAB/Simulink. Before implementing active and reactive power control the system is synchronised with the grid. © 2016 IEEE.
