Abstract : Electric vehicles (EVs) provide an efficient solution to regular combustion engine cars that leads to development of smart transportation system by reducing energy loss and pollution which promotes clean energy. The performance of electric vehicle (EV) is highly influenced by driving conditions and motor operating modes. This paper presents a Simulink-based analysis of an electric vehicle which includes battery energy management system incorporating four-quadrant (4Q) motor operation and operation under multiple standard drive cycles. Four-quadrant operation enables forward and reverse motoring as well as regenerative braking. Vehicle speed and motor torque are analyzed for all 4 quadrants. The vehicle model is evaluated using FTP72, US06, SC03, HWFET, LA92, IM240, HUDDS drive cycle which is essential for realistic vehicle operations. Vehicle speed is analyzed
