Abstract : This paper introduces a simple design for implementing a compact Microstrip line filter with band stop characteristics. Filter characteristics are achieved by using meander line as slot in the microstrip line. This perturbs the current through the line leading to the band stop characteristics in the frequency spectrum. As the iterations in the meander line is increased the filter gets tuned for different frequencies. A meander line incorporated microstrip filter with two iterations is fabricated to verify the simulated results. The proposed band stop filter can be widely used in military and medical applications for better efficiency.
