Abstract : The proposed work emphasis on design and simulation of closed loop operation of roof-top solar PV of a household with battery as an energy storage device. This paper presents the closed operation in two modes which are islanded, and grid connected mode. In grid connected mode, based on the solar irradiation, the load consumes power either from the grid or from the solar PV. In the islanded mode, load consumes power either from the solar PV or from the battery. The controller has designed in a way that by generating and comparing the reference and actual of inverter voltage and current signals using a PI controller, the switching pulses can be generated. The proposed design and d-q control strategy is simulated and validated in MATLAB/Simulink, in both islanded and grid connected mode
