Abstract : A theory is developed for the boundary layer analysis of the passive methods to control the noise. The emphasis through the present treatment is on the materials where fluid and solid are of comparable densities for instance in case of water-saturated rocks. It is found that the flow may be described by two non-dimensional parameters and a characteristic frequency. © Springer Science+Business Media Singapore 2017.
