Abstract : The effect of two main parameters in a solar pond are top layer area and bottom layer thickness. These parameters are considered and studied under experimental setup of salt gradient pond and its significant role in thermal energy storage. Two vessels of different radius are used, in order to understand the effect of different top layer area. As the area of the top layer and the thickness of the bottom layer in a pond increases, the stored energy is also found increasing.
