Abstract : MGNREGA was introduced by P.V. Narasimha Rao in 1991. In 2nd February 2006 it came into act in the parliament and it was implemented in 655 districts. In this project they have given 100 days of wages at the financial year to all members in this programme. This paper focus on the impact of MGNREGA on the livelihood of Scheduled Tribes. The study was carried out in the areas of Vithura and Ottur Panchayat, Thiruvananthapuram District. Research adopted percentage method, chi-square method. There has been several changes that has been taken place to Scheduled Tribes after the implementation of MGNREGA programme. As part of the MGNREGA programme, it has enhanced the living conditions of the Scheduled Tribes.
