Abstract : Implementation of Traffic Engineering (TE) in Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) in a network environment consists of seven routers and two hosts. MPLS TE is an important solution when the demand for efficient data transmission and bandwidth usage occurs. For illustration purposes, this work describes about how the network environment configuration and architecture of seven interconnected routers can be used to encourage every possible type of traffic pattern and redundancy. Then the extensive simulation and analysis is performed to confirm the enhanced performance due to MPLS TE. Then by measuring criteria such as latency, bandwidth usage, and general Quality of Service(QoS) it is concluded that with the use of MPLS TE, a significant decrease in congestion and effective management of data flow can be achieved impacting both the end-hosts in the network. The implementation difficulties and limitations are discussed which are in the form of complexity in configuration and interoperability compared with other existing routing proto-cols. This gives a very good direction to network engineers and administrators involved in the process of optimizing the networks.
