Abstract : One of the most important approaches for increasing the lifetime of wireless sensor networks is clustering. The inefficiency in choosing a suitable clustering technique for the given Wireless Sensor Network may lead in loss of time and energy and thus the cost. In this paper, we present four strategies for clustering techniques which can be used in a hierarchical wireless sensor networks. The numerical results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed clustering techniques in terms of providing energy efficient network with better node live time.
