Abstract : As a result of the recent developments that swept through the petroleum industry, the Internet of things (IoT) became a part of the main applied technologies in the past few years. This chapter illustrates how the future depends on IoT in building intelligent oil fields and oil wells. Major benefits and challenges of using IoT as discussed. It also includes literature reviews and comparisons of different studies. The contents of the research are supported by using analysis and diagrams of design and architects of the system.
