Abstract : This article presents an English translation of interview with a doctor of traditional Indian medicine (Ayurveda), Astavaidya, V. C. Na*** Namputiri (1929~) in Keralam, India. The contents of the interview are 1. Background and education, 2. History of the family and Astavaidyas, 3. The legacy of Vahata (Vagbhata), 4. Medical texts and manuscripts, 5. Special treatments, Rasayana, 6. Sanskrit and Malayalam literature.
