Abstract : This paper presents a novel idea of perturbing the signal line of the Coplanar Waveguide (CPW), there by introducing a filter characteristics in the frequency spectrum. The perturbation is introduced as a gap coupled Open Loop Resonator (OLR). The resonator parameters for achieving the desired Band Pass Filter (BPF) characteristics are optimized using ANSYS HFSS. Detailed analytical study is carried out and design equation for the proposed filter is presented.
