Abstract : Large intelligent surfaces (LIS) assisted nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) networks is a promising technology for 5 G and beyond network. In this work, we have completed the performance analysis of LIS supported NOMA network. We have proposed a system model where multiple users are served by a gNB/base station (BS) equipped with LIS. In this work, our focus is on downlink scenario where the BS simultaneously transmits to multiple users using NOMA and, the LIS helps to increase the received signal quality as well as coverage. Later, we have analyzed the performance of the proposed LIS-assisted NOMA network and compared with conventional NOMA systems without LISs. The results showed that the LIS can significantly improve the system performance regarding probability of error, pairwise error probability (PEP) and diversity gain. It is observed that error probability is reduced from approximately 10−3 to 10−6 with M = 2 to M=5 at a signal-to-noise (SNR) of around 21 dB. Such findings would provide a valuable insight into LIS-assisted NOMA networks which is a part of 5 G and 6 G networks.
