Abstract : Vehicle theft and unauthorized usage are growing concerns, demanding advanced yet cost-effective tracking and security solutions. An IoT-based Anti-Theft Vehicle Tracking System integrates GPS, GSM, and cloud technologies to provide real-time monitoring and control. The system utilizes a microcontroller (such as ESP8266) or a GSM module (like SIM800C) equipped with GPS, fuel, and speed sensors to collect vehicle data, which is transmitted to a cloud-based Firebase database via the internet. A user-friendly mobile application, developed using Android Studio and OSMdroid API, offers separate interfaces for vehicle owners and drivers, enabling live tracking of location, speed, and fuel levels. The system includes an engine control switch to remotely disable the vehicle and sends SMS alerts via GSM during unauthorized movements, ensuring functionality even in offline scenarios. Historical route analysis and alert management further enhance its utility. Designed to be cost-effective and accessible, the system demonstrates the potential of IoT, GPS, and GSM technologies in creating robust, affordable, and user-friendly anti-theft solutions for modern vehicles. Experimental results validate its reliability and effectiveness in real-world applications.
