Abstract : The present invention relates to nanoparticles containing a photosensitizer, said nanoparticles comprising: one photosensitizer, the photosensitizer through at least a portion of the nanoparticle is covalently bonded to the nanoparticle matrix material and state of aggregation and quasi- into the nanoparticle matrix. The present invention further relates to a process for preparing nanoparticles of the present invention, and the use of the nanoparticles photodynamic therapy method of killing cancer cells.
