amFOSS is the oldest and most vibrant technical club at Amritapuri campus, built on the foundations of Free and Open Source Software. We believe that the best way to grow as engineers (and humans) is by building, collaborating, breaking things (sometimes), and fixing them together.
Our club isn’t just about lines of code, it’s about fostering curiosity, building a community of learners, and creating opportunities that reach far beyond the campus walls.

We guide students from “Hello World” to contributing to real-world open-source projects, and everything in between.

The journey here is intense, exciting, and refreshingly unconventional.
We believe that learning in public, alongside a group of like-minded, slightly nerdy, and highly motivated peers, is one of the most powerful ways to grow.
Many of our members go on to:
But perhaps more importantly, they grow into individuals who take ownership, communicate clearly, and lead by example.
Here’s a quick glance at some of our recent club-wide activities and achievements:
We’re not just participating, we’re showing up, collaborating, and making an impact.

While we’re passionate about technology, we know there’s more to growth than typing code. Our members regularly engage in:
At our core, we’re driven by the desire to learn deeply, share freely, and grow together, and have a good time doing it.

Since its inception, amFOSS has been a trendsetter, the first club in Amrita to send students for international internships, secure scholarships, and speak on global stages.
But we’re not here just to reminisce.
Every year, new members take the legacy forward, with fresh ideas, bold projects, and a relentless drive to keep learning.
amFOSS is open to all curious minds. Whether you’re a code newbie or someone ready to deep-dive into development, if you’re willing to learn, we’ve got your back.
You bring the curiosity.
We’ll bring the community.
