Dr. Anirban Banerjee, Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering, IIT Bombay addressed the students and faculty of Amrita School of Biotechnology on March 2, 2015. His seminar was titled “Molecular Basis of Group B Streptococcal Pathogenesis: The Hidden Facts”.
A workshop for the Amrita Online Labs project (OLabs) was held at PGM Boys and Girls’ High School, Pandalam, Kerala on the 6th February 2015. Thirty-nine Science teachers from the school participated and had a unique opportunity to experience the virtual labs through a demonstration organized by AmritaCREATE.
AmritaCREATE launched Amrita Online Labs Teachers Training programme at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetam, Ettimadai Campus on 24 January 2015.
The Amrita ABB Robotics Lab, the first of its kind by an Indian university, was inaugurated at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham(Amritapuri Campus) on February 25th by Shri. P. K. Kunhalikutty, Minister of Industries and IT, Government of Kerala. The state of the art lab is expected to herald a new era for robotics research and academics in India. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s AMMACHI Labs has collaborated with ABB Robotics for setting up the Robotics Research Lab with two ROS-Industrial robots.
Students of Amritapuri campus made Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham proud by emerging as champions in the Kollam District Powerlifting Championship held on February 2015 and Kerala State Power lifting Championship held at Cherthala from February 21-22, 2015.

Continuing its winning streak, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham received award of INR Rs.15, 000 at the IMTEX 2015, for its outstanding research work. The institution was conferred the award at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bangalore for its work titled Brain Controlled Interface for Robotic Applications.
