In their endeavor to offer globally relevant world-class programs across a broad spectrum of disciplines, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and the University of Arizona are embarking on a multidisciplinary partnership in education and research.
Amrita student teams- “Paricharya” and “Vijayanta” from the Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, won 2.25 Million Japanese Yen (Approx. 15 lakhs INR) towards participating in 2020 World Robot Summit to be held in Japan next year.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has announced entering into a “Letter of Intent (LoI)” with the University of Twente (Universiteit Twente (UT), Netherlands, to combine strengths and enhance Engineering education and research with the right blend of scientific excellence and societal benefit.
On behalf of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Dr. Shyam Diwakar, (Director, Computational Neuroscience and Neurophysiology and Associate Professor, School of Biotechnology, Amritapuri), was invited to attend the Iberoamerican Network of Pharmacogenetics (RIBEF) Symposium on “Ethnicity, Socio-cultural Context and Education for Health Research, Latin American, European and Asian Views about Education (values, attitudes), Sociocultural Contexts (Traditional Medicine) and Pharmacogenetics for Research on Humans.” held at Campus PHI, Acebo, Spain from October 6-7, 2019.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham with Tel Aviv University, Israel, organized a week-long workshop at Amritapuri campus on water in the context of sustainable development, from September 19-25, 2019.
Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, (Dean of International Programs and Director of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks (AmritaWNA) and Applications at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) met with UNESCO’s Dr. Kristof Vandenberghe (Secretary of the International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme (IGGP)) and Dr. Soichiro Yashukawa and Dr. Masaya Sasaki (Programme Specialists on Disaster Risk Reduction), during her invited visit to UNESCO headquarters at Paris as the first group of 58 signatories of the Kyoto 2020 Commitment for Global Promotion of Understanding and Reducing Landslide Disaster Risk (KLC2020), signed at UNESCO Headquarters at Paris on September 18, 2019.

Team bi0s of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus, was invited to play the onsite CTF at Duy Tan University, Vietnam, among 6 international CTF teams and 5 Vietnamese teams, after finishing the first worldwide in the qualifying round.
Ruthvik Chanda (Semester 7) of Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, won first prize at Robocon 2019, an esteemed robotic competition, held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, USA, from July 29 to August 9, 2019.
