Researchers from Amrita & Glasgow University Designed Hand Hygiene Robot

Pepe, the robot, costs around Rs 7,000 and was developed by researchers from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in collaboration with the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Pepe is a hand-shaped speaking robot, which helps to teach students of the Chithragiri Government Primary School in Wayanad how to wash their hands in accordance with WHO standards.

Jharkhand Governor Visits AMMACHI Labs Skill Development Center

Honorable Governor of Jharkhand, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, visited Amrita Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) special projects hub center in Jonha, Ranchi, Jharkhand on September 14, 2019. She took a keen interest in visiting Amrita's AMMACHI Labs Skill Development Center when she heard about it during her visit to Women Empowerment event organized by the Sevabharathi campus.

Prof. Bhavani Rao R., UNESCO Chair in Gender Equality & Women’s Empowerment (Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) and Director of AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Multi Modal Applications Using Computer & Human Interaction Labs, was an invited speaker and panelist at the the Third European International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management in Pilsen, Czech Republic, at the Park Hotel Congress Center, from July 23-26, 2019.
