Researchers from Amrita & Glasgow University Designed Hand Hygiene Robot

Pepe, the robot, costs around Rs 7,000 and was developed by researchers from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in collaboration with the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Pepe is a hand-shaped speaking robot, which helps to teach students of the Chithragiri Government Primary School in Wayanad how to wash their hands in accordance with WHO standards.

Amrita Delegate Meets UNESCO Officials at Paris

Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, (Dean of International Programs and Director of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks (AmritaWNA) and Applications at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) met with UNESCO's Dr. Kristof Vandenberghe (Secretary of the International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme (IGGP)) and Dr. Soichiro Yashukawa and Dr. Masaya Sasaki (Programme Specialists on Disaster Risk Reduction), during her invited visit to UNESCO headquarters at Paris as the first group of 58 signatories of the Kyoto 2020 Commitment for Global Promotion of Understanding and Reducing Landslide Disaster Risk (KLC2020), signed at UNESCO Headquarters at Paris on September 18, 2019.
