Students from the Amrita Vishwa Vidypeetham’s School of Communication (ASCOM), Coimbatore, bagged the Jury’s Special Mention at the Face Video Awards in Calicut. This is the second film from Amrita to bag a
prize. Amrita Vishwa Vishapeetham has taken great strides since its inception and is now acknowledged as a leading research and teaching institution — accredited with grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
Gowtham S., student of Computer Science Engineering at Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore introduce new series of Tamil ambigrams that can take the language a step forward. Ambigram is a design or art form that may be read as one or more words when looked at angles of 90 or 180 degrees. “Tamil can be a very flexible language for ambigrams,” says Gowtham. He adds that the language is older than the ambigrams and has the ability to blend itself with other languages which could help in mutual understanding between people of different nationalities, thus, helping break language barriers.
The final year Computer Science students of Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri Campus, Mohammad Ayas P. A., Sarin Dev K., Rajesh N., developed a Robot named Mars. This Robot greets visitors and works as a postman for the entire campus.
