Under the guidance of its Chancellor, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham provides free facilities that support student well-being and contribute to an inclusive academic environment, including childcare facilities that support the well-being and development of children.

Amrita childcare centres in Faridabad and Bengaluru serve urban families. These facilities provide childcare support to student mothers, helping them pursue their studies while caring for their children.

Faridabad Campus Childcare Facility for Student Mothers

Inaugurated on February 12, 2025, the childcare facility at the Faridabad campus supports students with young children. It operates daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and currently serves 14 children aged six months to six years, including four toddlers and 10 older children, cared for by three trained staff members.

The facility was developed with policies, procedures and enrolment processes covering health, hygiene, meals and structured daily routines. Authorised pick-up and drop-off protocols were also established to ensure children’s safety. The centre provides safe indoor spaces, child-sized furniture, clean toilets, an on-site kitchen, and age-appropriate learning and play materials.

Children follow a structured routine combining care, play and learning, with activities such as storytelling, puzzles, crafts and music to support cognitive, creative and social-emotional development. Health and safety are supported through regular hygiene practices, first-aid kits and periodic health check-ups.

The facility provides student mothers with access to childcare on campus, enabling them to pursue their studies while caring for their children.

I am a PhD student studying in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, Bengaluru. I enrolled my daughter in her 9 years onwards and now it’s been one year. She is very happy and comfortable. I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding care and nurturing environment in the creche. Even if I pick up my child in the late evening, the staff do not frown. I am consistently impressed by the professionalism and genuine care exhibited by the staff.  I wholeheartedly recommend the creche to my fellow researchers.”
Sajitha Krishnan, PhD Student, CSE Dept., Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru.

“I’m a research scholar here and have enrolled my daughter in the college creche. I’m extremely happy with the facility. The staff is caring, well-trained, and responsive to my child’s needs. The creche is clean, safe, and offers a well-structured routine with engaging activities. Its location within the campus is highly convenient, allowing me to balance my academic work with being close to my daughter. The facility is affordable, and communication is excellent, with regular updates on my child’s well-being. Overall, it’s a wonderful place for both children and parents, and I highly recommend it.”

At the semi-rural Ettimadai-Coimbatore and Amritapuri campuses, most families have alternative childcare arrangements, including support from grandparents, therefore crèches previously provided for employees are no longer in operation At Amritapuri, most families and student mothers also rely on caregivers at the nearby M.A. Math, an institution founded by the Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
