Hon’ble Justice Mohan Pieris is a visiting faculty member at the Amrita School of Law, Coimbatore. He is also a renowned legal luminary who served as the Chief Justice of Sri Lanka and has held numerous prominent positions in the country’s legal and diplomatic arenas. As a former Attorney General of Sri Lanka, his legal opinions and advocacy were instrumental in shaping national jurisprudence. His rich career encompasses decades of experience in both the public and private legal sectors, with a strong focus on international law, governance, and human rights.
In addition to his judicial service, Mr. Pieris has represented Sri Lanka at various international platforms and served as Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York. His breadth of experience and commitment to the rule of law make him an invaluable contributor to legal education and policy discussions worldwide. He continues to mentor aspiring lawyers and policymakers with grace and insight.
