Bio

Dr. Rishi Kumar currently serves as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai Campus.

He has more than six years of Teaching and Research Experience. He has published 21+Research Articles in Peer-reviewed International Journals (SCI, SCIE, ESCI, and Scopus indexed journal) with the highest Impact Factor of 7.40 and 1 Book Chapters. He has been a visiting researcher at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany and Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom to collaborate in the field of Industry 4.0. He specializes in Digital Twins, Cyber-Physical Production Systems (CPPS), and Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 technologies, where he integrates IoT, AI, data analytics, and sustainability into manufacturing, enhancing efficiency and resilience through advanced digital technologies and optimization techniques with human centricity in focus. He is currently serving as the organizing committee member and session chair for special session on “Low-Cost Digital Twin Development” at the 4th Low-Cost Digital Solutions for Industrial Automation (LoDiSA 2026) Conference at the University of Cambridge from 23–24 September 2026. In addition to that, he has chaired a session on “Supply Chain Traceability” and served on the organizing committee for the 3rd Low-Cost Digital Solutions for Industrial Automation (LoDiSA 2025) Conference at the University of Cambridge. He has organized and attended various International Conferences, Webinars, Faculty Development programs, Workshops, and Training Programs. Currently, he serves as a “Guest Editor” for Special Issue on “Digital twins for security testing”, an “Editorial Board Member” for Scientific Reports, a Nature portfolio journal, and Discover Artificial Intelligence, a Springer journal, in addition to being an Active Reviewer for several reputable publications.
