Workshop Title: Pathway to Net Zero: Implementing Sustainable Strategies in Your Organization

Duration: Half-Day Workshop (4 hours)

Overview: As climate change becomes an urgent global priority, organizations are under increasing pressure to decarbonize and contribute to a sustainable future. This interactive workshop empowers leaders and sustainability professionals with the insights and tools needed to embed Net Zero commitments into their core business strategies. Chad Kymal

Chad Kymal, is CTO and Founder of Omnex Inc. and brings over 40 years of expertise in organizational improvement, specializing in Cybersecurity, Digital Business Transformation, Supply Chain, Sustainability (including Net Zero),and Operational Excellence.

Chad began his career at General Motors and has dedicated over 40 years to writing books and papers, as well as guiding clients on their journeys to excellence. Throughout his distinguished career, Chad has served on the Malcolm Baldrige Board of Examiners and received numerous accolades, including the 2025 Quality Professional of the Year award from the American Society for Quality (ASQ)Automotive Division.

Chad spearheaded a Ford Motor Initiative, aligning strategic objectives (strategy alignment) with KPIs, process measurables, and key processes for Ford and its supply base. This senior management governance methodology drove rapid improvements, focusing on customers and key stakeholders. This initiative formed the basis for the Automotive Industries’ resurgence and the basis for the operating systems of many fortune 500 organizations.

Managing Director, Omnex Future Past

Dr. John Shideler 

John Shideler, PhD, is managing director of OmnexFuturepast, a Michigan-based firm that provides consulting, training and verification services to organizations focused on mitigating the impacts of climate change and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy. John is an experienced greenhouse gas consultant and verifier and US expert to the ISO committees that publish international standards related to climate change and sustainability. John helped develop the new ISO 14019 standard for the verification and validation of sustainability information. He also helped write ISO 14064-3, a widely used standard for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements. John is the co-author, with Jean Hetzel, of the book “Introduction to Climate Change Management: Transitioning to a Low-Carbon Economy,” published by Springer Nature in 2022. John earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of California, Berkeley.

Opening Remarks by Moderator (2 minutes)
