Abstract : India is growing in solar PV power generation potential in recent years. However, the PV system generated power is likely to be affected due to many reasons. One of the main reasons is the electrical faults that take place in the PV fed power system. These faults occur due to inevitable situations like trees falling on power lines, overvoltages due to lightning surges, etc. This paper modeled a grid-integrated PV power system with a robust control mechanism and an efficient LCL filter in MATLAB. This PV transmission system is frequently prone to open-circuit (OC) and short-circuit (SC) faults. In this paper, an inclusive short circuit analysis is conducted on PV system by considering symmetrical faults like LLL-fault, LLLG-fault and unsymmetrical faults like L-fault, LL-fault, and LLG-fault at PCC. The response of respective grid voltages and currents due to these faults are also analyzed in this paper.
