Bio

Dr. Bini Upendran is a Professor and Head of the Department of Rachana Shareera at Amrita School of Ayurveda. She holds a B.A.M.S. from Government Ayurveda College, Trivandrum, and an M.D. (Ay) in Rachana Shareera from Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College, Moodbidri. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Rachana Shareera at Parul University, Gujarat.

She joined as Tutor in Department of Shareera Rachana at Sree Narayana Institute of Ayurvedic Studies & Research, Kollam in the year 2004 and with over 21years of teaching experience in Ayurveda, Dr. Bini has specialized expertise in human body dissection, anatomical museum design, wax-coating techniques, and innovative teaching methodologies. She has actively participated in numerous national and international seminars, CME programs, and academic workshops, and has contributed papers and lectures in the field of applied anatomy and Ayurvedic concepts.

  1. Participated in “National Seminar on Developmental Disorders in Children”, Organized by Dept. ofKaumarabhritya, Govt. Ayurveda College, Trivandrum, between 21st and 23rd January 2008.
  2. Partcicipated in “Jignyasa – Ayurvedic students’ state level conference”, organized by Akhil BharatiyaVidyarthi Parishad, Karnataka, between 26th and 28th September 2008.
  3. Participated in “National Seminar on Cardiology in Preventive Aspects”, organized by Govt. AyurvedaCollege Union, Tripunithura on 24th and 25th October, 2009.

Participated in State level Refresher course on “Applied Anatomy of Gastrointestinal System for ClinicalDiagnosis” (18 credit hours) sponsored by Dept. of Health & Family Wlfare, Govt. of Kerala and Organisedby the Dept. of Rachana Shareera, Govt. Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram from 3rd to 5th February2011.
  8. Participated in “Antenatal and Postnatal Care in Ayurveda” conducted by Ayurveda Medical Associationof India on 26th June 2011 at Kollam, Kerala.
  9. Published an article on “Applied Anatomy of Kidney” in the Journal “Glitters of Ayurveda”, published bySree Narayana Health Care Society, Kollam, Kerala.
  10. Participated in “National Arogya Fair 2015 – Seminar on Current Trends in Ayurvedic Research on 23rdMay 2015 at Poojappura Grounds, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
  11. Participated in the state level CME programme titled “A Symposium on Sandhi Shareera (16 credithours) sponsored by The Directorate of Ayurveda Medical Education and organized by the Dept. ofRachanaShareera, Govt. Ayurveda College, Tripunithura from 4th to 6th January 2017.
  12. Participated as a delegate in Jignasa 2017 – International Conference on “Convergence of HealthTraditions in Bharatavarsha”, organized by Vidyarthi Seva Trust from 10th to 12th February 2017 atSaraswathi Mandapam Ground, Poojapura, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala
